Pride and Prejudice fame Keira Knightley never misses the mark when it comes to making the right fashion choices. Her latest avatar at Chanel’s Cruise 2025 show stands as the testament. Putting her best fashion foot forward, the Hollywood beauty picked out a floor-length white dress from the brand’s fall 2025 collection for the occasion. The crew neck gown featured long, bell sleeves and a A-line maxi skirt. The bodice had seven black bows and a thick pearl belt with gold accents. The actress finished her look with a pair of slim black glasses. She kept her hair and makeup natural, keeping the focus on the dress.

In her previous outing at Chanel, Keira Knightley attended “Gabrielle Chanel. Fashion Manifesto” exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum. The fashionista wore a black, long-sleeved, button-up blouse adorned with large, colourful floral prints. She paired it with a high-waisted, full-length skirt that featured multiple layered tiers. The entirely black contrasted well with the floral top and added sophistication to the whole ensemble. Keira finished her look with dangler earrings and a tied up messy bun.

Makeup wise she sported her beaming complexion topped off with a natural look and mascara filled fanned-out eyelashes. Her filled out eyebrows framed her face to perfection and was complemented with a touch of pink blush on the highpoints of her cheeks. She added the final touch of glam to her look with a light brown lip liner teamed with a matte lipstick to creat the perfect nude lip.

  • Can The Ice Dunk Trend Save Your Skin? We Asked Experts

Summer doesn’t exactly scream “beauty trend season,” but one skincare practise is climbing the charts and rightly so – the ice dunking trend. From Alia Bhatt using ice to reduce puffiness to Ananya Panday showcasing it as a cool beauty hack that works, ice dunking has become a favourite among many celebrities.

While ice has always been a popular element in skincare rituals, the recent trend has us curious about its real benefits. NDTV reached out to experts to better understand both the advantages and disadvantages of this growing skincare practise.

What Is Ice Dunking For Skin?

Dunking ice for skin- also known as ice dunking or an ice water facial – is a popular beauty trend where you submerge your face in a bowl full of ice-cold water for a short period. It is sort of a cold therapy believed to refresh and rejuvenate the skin.

Benefits Of Ice Dunking For Skin

From improving skin texture to reducing inflammation, ice dunking offers several benefits – but do they actually last? We asked experts.

Dr Meghana Reddy Endela, Consultant Dermatologist at Zennara Clinics, told NDTV that ice dunking improves circulation, reduces inflammation, enhances skin health, and may even regulate core body temperature.

“Cold water has anti-inflammatory benefits and soothes irritated, itchy skin. It refreshes the skin, especially in hot weather. Cold water is also known to have a temporary benefit on enlarged pores and improving skin tone due to the vasoconstriction effect,” explains Dr Madhuri Agarwal, Dermatologist, Founder & Medical Director at Yavana Aesthetics Clinic.

Dr Rashmi Sharma, Dermatologist and Director at Kara Dermatology Solutions & Aesthetic Centre, agrees that while ice dunking can benefit the skin, it does have not have a long-term effect. “It can temporarily shrink the pores and make your skin shine, which will make the redness reduce”.

Are There Any Side Effects Of Ice Dunking

As the trend gains popularity, many people follow it blindly without understanding the potential side effects, which may lead to skin issues.

Dr Endela says, “Beginners should start by dipping their face in ice for about 15 seconds and gradually increase to 30 seconds. It’s important to take breaks between plunges to avoid problems. People with sensitive skin need to be careful, as cold water can strip the skin of natural oils, causing skin irritation and dryness”.

    Who Should Avoid Ice Dunking

You may want to hop on the bandwagon when there’s a new skincare trend around, but it’s crucial to evaluate whether it suits your skin type. Experts recommend avoiding ice dunking in certain cases:

    • If you have rosacea (a chronic inflammatory skin condition) as extreme temperatures can trigger a flare-up.
    • Those who suffer from circulatory issues such as Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (an autoimmune disease where the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks healthy tissues) and Raynaud (a condition that causes the blood vessels in the extremities, typically fingers and toes).
    • People who have sensitive skin as it may cause irritation and skin damage.
    • Ice dunking can make it worse if you are prone to broken capillaries.
    • You should not try it if you have severe acne. While it may soothe inflammation, can irritate lesions.

According to the police, the attack was allegedly carried out by Praveena’s male friend, identified as Dileesh.

Her 14-year-old daughter suffered deep wounds to her neck and ear and is being treated at a government hospital.

  • Kerala Man Charged For “Brutally Assaulting” 8-Year-Old Daughter

Police booked a man on Saturday after disturbing visuals of him “brutally assaulting” his eight-year-old daughter went viral on social media recently.

In the footage, the man could be seen beating the child and trying to slam her head against the wall as she cries in fear.

As the issued triggered widespread outrage on social media platforms, Health, Women and Child Development Minister Veena George and General Education Minister V Sivankutty came out strongly condemning the act and assured stringent leagal measures against the accused.

Following circulation of the video, the police launched a probe and identified the man as Jose alias Mamachan, living in a rented house in Cherupuzha of this district.

A senior police official said he was summoned to the local station in the morning.

His estranged wife and two children were also called to the station to record their statements, K Vinod Kumar, Deputy SP, Payyannur said.

“As soon as the video came to our notice yesterday, we contacted the man and the children. But, they claimed that it was a prank video,” he told a TV channel.

They claimed that it was picturised to bring back their mother who was staying separated from them.

“But, prima facie, we don’t think it is a prank video. Even if it is a prank video as claimed by them, a video showing brutality to children cannot be taken like this,” he said.

Responding to the criticism about police inaction, Kumar said the children were shifted to their paternal aunt’s house with their consent on Friday itself.

The officer further said legal action would be taken in connection with the incident and a case would be registered after recording the statements of the man, his wife and the children.

Later in the day, Cherupuzha police said a case has been registered against him and he was being interrogated.

“He still claims that it was a prank video. A detailed statement of the children should also be taken and procedures for it are are going on,” a police officer belonging to the station said.

The man was booked under Section 75 of Juvenile Justice Act (cruelty to children) and various sections of the BNS including Section 115 (voluntarily causing hurt), he said.

As TV channels aired the footages of assault, a panchayat official, quoting locals, told the media that the family moved to Cherupuzha two and a half months ago and the man used to beat his children.

Meanwhile, Minister Veena George gave instructions to the director of the Women and Child Development Department to make necessary interventions in the matter.
